PAWW
As of Aug. 1st, 2022, the obligatory PAWW (Private Supplement to the WW and WGA) came into effect.
In 2016, the duration of the WW and wage-related WGA was shortened from 38 months to a maximum of 2 years. Social partners then agreed that the missed months could be privately repaired in the PAWW. This extends the right to benefit after paid employment back to the original duration. The supplementary arrangement is written into the Collective Bargaining Agreement PAWW, and the implementation of this private initiative is vested in the PAWW Foundation (SPAWW).
If you become unemployed and are entitled to WW, it is important that you register yourself with SPAWW; you MUST do this yourself.
